This position will be a part of the Corporate Accounting Team and will answer to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting. The month-end accounting close for all Yelp entities, including our foreign offices, is handled by this ambitious, fun, and collaborative team before the results are combined and communicated to all pertinent parties, both internally and externally.  You’ll do the following.
  •  Assisting in disclosure preparation, coordination, and review will help with disclosures related to quarterly Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings. These may also contain other forms in addition to Forms 10-Q and 10-K, as appropriate.

  •  As part of our month-end close procedure, you will assist, as necessary, in the creation and review of monthly accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for the areas of responsibility you have been given. Capitalized software development costs and stock compensation are two examples of what might be included here.
  •  You will guarantee that policies and procedures are followed in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) requirements. You will also organize SOX testing with internal and external auditors and make sure that any problems are fixed and remedied.
  •  You will take the lead and provide assistance on a variety of other projects, including SOX-related ones like the implementation of control flowcharts or other new system implementations that have an effect on SOX or SEC reporting.
  •  You will be in charge of managing the prompt delivery of supporting documentation to auditors (PBC list) for both external financial reporting audits and SOX-related requests, as well as managing the interaction with and handling of auditor questions.
  •  You can become a valuable business partner by collaborating with relevant cross-functional stakeholders, including the larger Accounting team, FPandA, investor relations, legal, and tax, among others.

 The following are the requirements for success.
  •  It was a B for you. S. /B. A. an equivalent degree in accounting, business administration, or another subject.
  •  At least four years of your experience are relevant.
  •  Either you already hold a CPA designation or you are actively pursuing it.
  •  You have experience working on SEC filings for publicly traded companies (either as a result of your auditing experience or your previous employment with a company).
  •  Ideally, you should have had prior experience in public accounting at one of the Big 4 firms.
  •  Both US GAAP and the methods applied in accounting research are things you are well-versed in.
  •  It would be ideal if you were familiar with Workiva’s Wdesk SEC filing program.
  •  You are accustomed to working with external auditors and SOX.
  •  Microsoft Word and Excel are both skills you possess.
  •  You have admirable attention to detail.
  •  While still meeting deadlines and achieving your objectives, you can manage multiple projects at once.
  •  Because you are a self-starter, you can work independently in a dynamic environment.
  •  You have a proven track record of success working with people at all organizational levels to solve problems and achieve results.
  •  Both verbal and written communication are your strong suits.
  •  You have the excellent analytical skills and tenacity required to implement process improvement successfully.
  •  Although it is not required, you have previously used Oracle accounting systems.
