Summary.
- This position will report to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting and be a part of the Corporate Accounting Team. The month-end accounting close for all of Yelp’s entities, including our international locations, is handled by this ambitious, enjoyable, and collaborative team. After combining the results, they inform both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll perform:.
- You will prepare disclosures and manage filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) on a quarterly basis. Although other forms may be added as needed, these primarily consist of Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
- You must ensure that the aforementioned filings are SEC and U. compliant. General accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) and S. requirements for XBRL tagging.
- You will support the Investor Relations team in its efforts to communicate Yelp’s results through the quarterly Shareholder Letter by delivering timely and accurate financial data, reviewing key earnings data, and offering additional insights.
- You will carry out pertinent accounting literature reviews, provide technical memos, and give instructions to ensure Yelp is accounting for any changes in accordance with U. SDO GAAP. This entails looking into, analyzing, and documenting current accounting pronouncements that will have an impact on Yelp.
- You will help with the creation of monthly accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for the areas of responsibility as part of our month-end close procedure. This could, among other things, cover things like stock compensation and capitalized software development costs.
- You will ensure that policies and procedures are followed in accordance with the demands of Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”). Coordinate SOX testing with internal and external auditors and make sure any problems are fixed.
- You will take the lead and provide assistance on a variety of other projects, including SOX-related ones like the implementation of control flowcharts or other new system implementations that have an effect on SOX or SEC reporting.
- Some of the cross-functional stakeholders you will collaborate with include the larger Accounting team, FPandA, investor relations, legal, and tax, among others.
- You will perform financial statement analytics for key areas of responsibility and be able to communicate your conclusions to finance management as part of monthly fluctuation analyses.
- You will work on a range of original projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned.
Success requires the following.
- You receive a B. S. /B. A. an equivalent degree in business administration, accounting, or another subject.
- At least two years of your experience are relevant.
- You hold a CPA license or are pursuing one.
- Ideally, you have experience working on SEC filings for publicly traded companies (either through an auditing background or employment with a company).
- US GAAP and accounting research methods are both things you are knowledgeable about.
- The SOX is nothing new to you.
- You are especially skilled with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- It’s admirable how attentive you are to detail.
- You can prioritize numerous projects while working on them all at once, frequently under pressure, and still meet deadlines.
- You have excellent communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
- You are a strong analytical thinker with the ability to execute process improvement successfully.
- Although it’s not necessary, you’ve previously used Oracle accounting systems.
- You display a focus on working with others.
