Summary.
- Yelp is seeking a Senior Product Manager to develop innovative ad features and algorithms. As you work on product areas that raise the advertising value of our marketplace for both local businesses and users, you will develop and whiteboard algorithms and ad features to release to the market in this highly visible and significant role.
- If you enjoy working with a cross-functional team of product managers, applied scientists, machine learning engineers, backend engineers, and others, this is the position for you. It will allow you to play a significant role in the development of the advertising system at a billion-dollar company.
- This opportunity is entirely remote, so you are not required to be in any particular US state. All states in the US are eligible to apply. What you will do is:.
- Create algorithms for matching, ranking, and pricing ads from various ad inventory sources.
- Create and apply predictive models to efficiently distribute, match, and connect advertisers and consumers.
- Perform and oversee analyses to identify new areas for our engineering teams to focus on while gaining a thorough understanding of what is occurring in our ads marketplace.
- Various ad auction components should be optimized to raise value for advertisers and raise long-term revenue.
Success requires the following.
- It is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent professional experience.
- a background in physics, math, systems engineering, economics, or another relevant field that enables you to be skilled at developing advertising features, as well as experience as a product manager in a relevant industry.
- Customer-driven: motivated by generating revenue growth and translating customers’ wants and needs into concrete features. Has experience with difficult, business-critical technical issues.
- Loves to take large, unstructured problems and break them down into smaller, more manageable problems. She can use iPython and SQL to perform her own analysis.
- Both technical and non-technical audiences can benefit from the information that effective communicators can synthesize and translate. Additionally, they can influence participants from various organizational departments to show interest in challenging issues.
- Operational expertise: Constantly looks for ways to make the dependability of the ad system and the monitoring of metrics better.
- Strong team player who enjoys working with people from different teams, departments, and time zones.
