Full Job Description

This position will report to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting and be a part of the Corporate Accounting Team. This ambitious, enjoyable, and collaborative team handles the month-end accounting close for all Yelp entities, including our global offices. The outcomes are then combined and distributed to internal and external stakeholders.  You must complete the following.
  •  You will organize disclosures and assist with quarterly Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings. These may also include other forms, in addition to Forms 10-Q and 10-K, as necessary.
  •  You will confirm that the aforementioned filings are SEC and U. compliant. General accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) and S. XBRL tagging requirements.
  •  You will assist the Investor Relations team by supplying timely and accurate financial information, reviewing key earnings data, and offering additional insights as part of the process to communicate Yelp’s results through the quarterly Shareholder Letter.
  •  You will review pertinent accounting literature, provide technical memos, and give instructions to ensure Yelp is accounting for any changes in accordance with U. D. GAAP. This entails researching, analyzing, and recording recent accounting pronouncements that have an impact on Yelp.
  •  You will assist with the drafting of monthly accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for your assigned areas of responsibility as part of our month-end close process. For example, this could include stock compensation and capitalized software development costs.
  •  You will guarantee policy and procedure adherence in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley’s (“SOX”) requirements. Coordinate SOX testing with internal and external auditors and ensure that any issues are fixed.
  •  You’ll support and manage a variety of other projects, including SOX-related ones like the implementation of control flowcharts or other new system implementations that have an effect on SOX or SEC reporting.
  •  You will collaborate with members of the larger Accounting team, FPandA, investor relations, legal, and tax departments in addition to other pertinent cross-functional stakeholders.
  •  As part of monthly fluctuation analyses, you will examine financial statements for significant areas of responsibility and be able to communicate your findings to finance management.
  •  You will take part as needed in a wide range of original projects and impromptu investigations.
 The following is required for success.
  •  Your grade is a B. S. /B. A. in business administration, accounting, or a related subject.
  •  At least two years of your experience are relevant.
  •  You already possess a CPA license or are diligently pursuing one.
  •  If you have experience working on SEC filings for a publicly traded company, it would be ideal if you have a background in auditing or previous employment with a company.
  •  You are familiar with US GAAP and accounting research methods.
  •  You’re familiar with SOX.
  •  You have some familiarity with Word and Excel.
  •  Your focus on detail is exceptional.
  •  You can prioritize numerous projects while working on them all at once, frequently under pressure, and still meet deadlines.
  •  You communicate very well both orally and in writing.
  •  Your strong analytical abilities support your ability to follow through and successfully implement process improvement.
  •  Although it is not required, you have previously used Oracle accounting systems.
  •  You show signs of having a team mentality.
