In order to deliver incremental and sustainable growth in user contribution, traffic, and revenue, the Business Operations and Strategy team is in charge of identifying improvement areas and directing the strategy behind those operational changes. As an analyst, you will work cross-functionally with various departments of our business to support these initiatives. We work with our sales organization to help develop its incentive compensation system so that we can test new products and price points that will be provided to business owners. We strategize with our marketing team to identify fresh and more efficient approaches to attracting new customers. We work together with our organization’s community management team to develop novel strategies for encouraging contribution (e. g. from Yelp users (reviews, pictures). We collaborate with our product teams to provide the necessary analysis when choosing the most critical product priorities.

You’ll use analytically supported insights in conjunction with other business units at Yelp to make wise financial decisions.
You will actively work with Excel to deliver excellent analytic support while utilizing other tools (SQL, Salesforce, Python, Google Analytics, Tableau) as required.
You will find actionable insights, exhibit sound business judgment, make suggestions, and have an impact on Yelp’s business direction by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and effectively communicating your findings to them.
You will create Tableau dashboards that show KPIs, marketing effectiveness, and business trends/drivers.

Ideally, you should possess a bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, economics, or a closely related subject.
You’ve previously used quantitative methods to address analytical issues in a business setting.
You’ve had a lot of exposure to various business models and operations.
With your exceptional Excel modeling skills, you have a strong passion for data analysis. Knowing SQL is a plus.
You are an excellent problem solver because of your ability to switch between high-level insights and minute data.
You have strong interpersonal skills, are a great communicator, and work well in a team.
