 In relation to this position:.

•  A Principal Design Strategist is being sought by Wells Fargo’s Strategy, Digital and Innovation division. We’re looking for a candidate with pi-shaped skills for this position. These skills could include depth in strategic design as well as in other areas like behavioral science, speculative design, research, or user experience. The depth of these areas are complemented by the breadth of your toolkit as you encourage and facilitate excellent design, succeed in a new, expanding multidisciplinary team of collaborators, and inspire and enable great design. In cooperation with a wide range of partners, design strategists handle the following tasks:.
•  We facilitate Design Sprints, introducing new working methods to various internal teams, while developing new business visions, solutions, and roadmaps.
•  The “innovation incubation” process entails locating and fostering a thorough comprehension of potential growth areas, developing pertinent concepts, and turning those ideas into products that can be purchased and sold.

 In this capacity, you will.

•  Utilize information gathered from a variety of sources through analysis and combination to quickly identify and communicate user insights that guide strategy and product definition.
•  Exploratory and evaluative design research should be organized, planned, carried out, and the results should be turned into strategic insights.
•  Transform concepts into practical ideas and product designs by working with product designers.
•  Create visual pieces that reflect insights and convey ideas that encourage original thought.
•  Design strategy workshops can be organized and led.
•  Assist others in analysis and synthesis-related tasks by planning them and providing guidance.
•  Develop and deliver learning activities and resources that adhere to the learn, practice, apply model.
•  Help executives comprehend the connections between research, customer insights, and design solutions from conception to execution.

To be successful in this role, a candidate must be a self-starter with a pioneering curiosity that encourages constant discovery and experimentation, be at ease with ambiguity, have a strong ability to execute in a fast-paced environment while juggling multiple priorities, have strong systems thinking and analytics thinking skills, and have the ability to communicate complex ideas in an engaging way. ​.

You have a wealth of experience, and some of the positions you may have held include Design Strategist, Behavioral Scientist, Design Sprint Leader, Innovation Designer, Innovation Facilitation, Innovation Consultant, Innovation Strategist, Business Designer, Service Designer, Experience Designer, Design Researcher, Customer Experience Specialist, Product Designer and Strategist, or UI Designer and Strategist.

 The bare minimums are.

•  10+ years of design strategy experience, or equivalent, as demonstrated by any one of the following—education, training, work experience, or military service—or by a combination of them.

 Include in desired qualifications.

•  managing discovery and evaluative design research for ten years or more (problem definition, planning of the research, interviewing – from ethnographic interviews to usability testing).
•  10+ years of experience working professionally with product teams that included product managers, UX designers, and other design strategists (at a large company or agency).
•  a professor who teaches adults.
•  managing multidisciplinary teams with strategists, designers, and architects.
•  expertise in creating innovative solutions for customers or employees using design thinking, human-centered design, futuristic service design, data visualization, ethnography, systems thinking, analytical thinking, in-depth interviews, opportunity definition, concept development, storytelling, and visual recording.
•  understanding of design tools like Figma, Mural, Miro, and InVision.
•  A doctorate in cognitive, social, or behavioral sciences (psychology, anthropology, or another humanities field with a strong research component, cultural studies, political science, business, or design) is required.

•  This position does not allow for visa sponsorship.
•  This position has a flexible work schedule. Candidates must be prepared to travel to San Francisco once a month and spend at least three days a week working from Palo Alto.

 The pay scale.

•  $138,500 to $287,600 per year is the range.
