The overall clinical effectiveness of the designated market is the responsibility of the market medical director. In addition to supporting the business lead in the market expansion, the person in this position will oversee the clinical programs’ clinical and operational aspects. To support and enhance their performance on risk-based contracts, this person will collaborate closely with market primary care providers. By managing clinical models of care across all Walgreens Health channels (in store, online, and at home), this person will be in charge of ensuring the success of value-based agreements with payers. The Market Medical Director is in charge of implementing our clinical programs in the market, managing the market’s clinical staff, ensuring market compliance, and ensuring success as indicated by the market’s KPIs. The Market Medical director will also be in charge of working with our Business Development team to build, strengthen, and expand our network of providers.
