 Important responsibilities include.

•  A Principal Analyst on the Red Team works to strengthen defenses, improve response strategies, and improve detection capabilities in order to continuously improve United’s cybersecurity posture.
•  The infrastructure that supports Red Team engagements, attack surface reduction engagements, and penetration tests is created and maintained by a principal analyst. A principal analyst is expected to produce and deliver engagement results that are concentrated on the root cause, as well as mitigation and detection recommendations, and to advise application and system owners on corrective action.
•  The Principal Analysts of the Red Team additionally play a unique role in directly assisting United’s Vulnerability Disclosure Program. The capacity to work independently is essential in a large-scale enterprise setting.
•  Develop and execute Red Team engagements using tried-and-true methodologies, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) in order to illustrate the risks connected with actual advanced persistent threats (APTs).
•  Conduct research and develop novel TTPs for use in engagements to improve detection capabilities.
•  Lead and carry out vulnerability research to help United identify risk and make tactical and strategic recommendations.
•  Lead and carry out physical security assessments to evaluate risks and threats related to physical security and cybersecurity.
•  develop your subject-matter expertise for the Red Team’s engagements and vulnerability risk evaluation.
•  Collaborate with other cybersecurity and digital risk teams for comprehensive results.
•  Create and implement security standards, guidelines, and policies for various platforms and environments (e. g. distributed, client-server, mainframe, etc. ).
•  Use in-depth technical knowledge and business requirements to suggest corrective actions for vulnerabilities and security gaps found during assessments.
•  chooses methods, techniques, and evaluation standards for achieving results while exercising judgment within broadly outlined practices and policies.

 Qualifications.

•  What is needed to succeed (Minimum Requirements):.
•  An undergraduate degree in computer science or a closely related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience relevant to this position.
•  9 or more years of relevant experience, at least 5 of which were in IT security.
•  having spent at least five years performing code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests against web and mobile application technologies, services, platforms, and languages to look for vulnerabilities and exploits.
•  Communication between roles and responsibilities and up, down, and across them. Maturity, empathy, and people skills.
•  a thirst for knowledge (United is very technologically advanced and has a very large vocabulary. You must be quick to pick things up.
•  Working as a team is crucial because the Red Team is fundamentally a group of individuals. We function as a team. Wherever they choose, lone wolves are free to roam.
•  Problem-solving skills (Our team will need to use both analytical and creative thinking. We need to be able to look at problems not just from the security perspective, but from all perspectives.
•  understanding of mobile platform penetration testing.

•  Strong programming/debugging skills and knowledge of at least one of the following are required: Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, PHP, ASP. JSON, Objective-C, NET, and AJAX.
•  exceptional scripting skills (e. g. Shell scripts, JavaScript, Python, Perl).
•  the capacity to learn new information and apply it in a variety of situations.
