Full Job Description

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting, this position will be a member of the Corporate Accounting Team. The month-end accounting close for all of Yelp’s entities, including our international locations, is handled by this ambitious, enjoyable, and collaborative team. They then combine those findings and interact with internal and external stakeholders. This team stands out because it has a wealth of experience that was acquired through exposure to significant business partners and a wide range of financial topics.

 The following is what you’ll do.
  •  Planning, coordinating, and reviewing disclosures for quarterly Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) filings will require your assistance. Although other forms may be added as needed, these primarily consist of Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
  •  Ensure that the aforementioned filings are SEC and U. compliant. S. XBRL tagging specifications and generally accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”).
  •  You will assist in setting up the evaluation and approval of 10-Q and 10-K filings with key participants, such as senior management of Yelp, external auditors, internal and external legal counsel, the Yelp Disclosure Committee, and Audit Committee.
  •  You will help the Investor Relations team by providing timely and accurate financial information, reviewing key earnings information, and offering additional insights as part of the process to communicate Yelp’s results through the quarterly Shareholder Letter.
  •  You will carry out pertinent accounting literature reviews, provide technical memos, and give instructions to ensure Yelp is accounting for any changes in accordance with U. GAAP Sdot. In order to do this, you must conduct research, assess new accounting pronouncements that will affect Yelp, oversee the implementation of those new standards, and communicate your findings to management, business partners, and auditors.
  •  You will participate as needed in our month-end close process by creating or reviewing monthly accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for your assigned areas of responsibility. For example, this could include stock compensation and capitalized software development costs.
  •  You will guarantee policy and procedure adherence in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley’s (“SOX”) requirements. Along with coordinating the SOX testing with internal and external auditors, you will also be in charge of making sure that any issues discovered are fixed.
  •  You will help with and lead a variety of other projects, such as SOX-related ones like the implementation of control flowcharts or other new system implementations that have an effect on SOX or SEC reporting.
  •  You will oversee and manage the promptness of supporting documentation provided to auditors (PBC list) for both external financial reporting audits and SOX-related requests. You will also interact with them and respond to any inquiries they may have.
  •  You can become a valuable business partner by working with relevant cross-functional stakeholders, including the larger Accounting team, FPandA, investor relations, legal, and tax, among others.
  •  As part of monthly fluctuation analyses, you will be able to explain your findings to finance management after analyzing financial statements for significant areas of responsibility.
  •  As assigned, you’ll work on a range of special projects and ad hoc analyses, and you’ll be able to suggest procedure improvements for crucial accountability domains.
 In order to succeed, you must:.
  •  You received a B. S. /B. A. an equivalent degree in business administration, accounting, or another subject.
  •  You have at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  •  You already have a CPA license, or you’re actively pursuing one.
  •  You have prior experience working on SEC filings for a publicly traded company (from either an audit background or working within a company).
  •  You ought to have previously worked in public accounting at one of the Big 4 firms, ideally.
  •  You are an expert in US GAAP and accounting research methods.
  •  If you were familiar with Workiva’s Wdesk SEC filing program, that would be ideal.
  •  You’ve dealt with outside auditors and are familiar with SOX.
  •  You are especially skilled with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  •  You have a strong attention to detail.
  •  You are able to prioritize a variety of projects while still completing your goals and deadlines.
  •  You are a self-starter, which enables you to operate independently in a dynamic environment.
  •  You’ve shown that you can work well with people at all organizational levels to solve problems and get things done.
  •  Both when writing and speaking, you are very clear.
  •  Your strong analytical abilities support your ability to follow through and implement process improvement successfully.
  •  You’ve previously worked with Oracle accounting systems (this is a plus but not required).
  •  You show evidence of teamwork.
