Full Job Description

Join us in London at our EMEA headquarters as a member of the Design team to become our new Senior Designer. The primary audience for this role will be women and young girls.

A Senior Designer is needed to grow the EMEA business through cutting-edge trends and inventive, commercially viable, and consumer-right solutions. By putting our character equity and storytelling at the top of your list of priorities, you will aid in the growth of the business and increase the overall visibility of the Disney brand. In addition to working on one’s own areas of responsibility, this role entails managing the delivery of numerous briefs across priority accounts, leading standards of trend-right creative development and demographic as needed, and directing design and development of graphic assets and design tools for use across all categories within the business.

 Responsibilities.
  •  Work closely with the Senior Product Design and Development Manager/Design Manager to drive and own the development of creative assets across priority accounts to support the growth of relevant franchises from conception through artwork development and distribution.
  •  Conduct trend research, create initial concepts, produce final art worked style guides, patterns/borders, graphic/identity, icons, placement designs, and imagery, produce compelling product visuals, copywrite, produce product development pitches to new partners, and produce specialized core category toolkits.
  •  Cooperate closely with other consumer segment and product design teams to ensure creative alignment and support on larger projects as necessary.
  •  Lead and inspire the innovative ideation of product design and development, for example, through trend boards, creative pitches, and the creation of new product ideas, in order to advance current strategies.
  •  oversee the team’s adherence to corporate policies and brand management, making sure that all work is produced with integrity and adherence to the team’s commitment to character and design.
  •  Attend trade shows as often as necessary to develop a deeper understanding of the EMEA market while searching for original solutions to problems.
  •  Give the right kind of support for creativity, e. g. By downloading, backing up, archiving, and producing digital presentations as necessary, you can set the team up for success.
  •  By collaborating closely with product teams, designers, and artists, it is possible to uphold character and franchise integrity as well as synchronize design and art styles.
  •  Work closely with the Senior Product Design and Development Manager, Design Manager, and Product Design and Development Director, Sofltines, to ensure that projects are planned effectively in order to meet deadlines on time and stay within budgets.
 Required academic and professional backgrounds.
  •  BA Hons (or an equivalent degree) in a relevant field, e. g. products, clothing, and graphic design.
  •  Product design positions at a licensee, retail headquarters, or supplier that have commercial design expertise in relevant categories.
  •  an understanding of the customer’s DNA and experience in the commercialization of consumer goods.
  •  experience working in a multinational matrix organization.
  •  Ability to comprehend how buyers plan their ranges, the commercial applications of product development, and graphic design, as well as evidence of design practice in retail or manufacturing.
  •  extensive familiarity with all aspects of design, including illustration, pattern, page layout, color, product design, and trends. possess the ability to create brand-new graphic design assets from scratch.
  •  excellent proficiency with the Creative Suite programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and others.
 It is preferred that candidates possess soft skills.
  •  Strong ability to coach, manage, and lead a team to achieve goals and foster creativity while managing a variety of briefs.
