•  The Data Engineer is in charge of developing data pipelines and/or data integrations of test data for Costco’s enterprise-certified data sets that are utilized for business-critical data consumption use cases (i.e. e. in addition to reporting, data science, and data APIs. ).  ROLE.

•  creates and operationalizes data pipelines to deliver data to the various test environments used to produce our certified data sets.
•  creates data pipelines in cooperation with data architects, data stewards, and data quality engineers and offers suggestions for ongoing enhancements to data storage, data ingestion, data quality, and orchestration.
•  knowing how to mask PII and other sensitive data, as well as the resources and methods used to do so.
•  Creates, develops, and implements ETL/ELT/CDC processes using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, and other ETL products.
•  takes advantage of Azure services like Azure SQL DW (Synapse), ADLS, Azure Event Hub, Cosmos, Databricks, and Delta-Lake to improve and speed up the delivery of our data products and services.
•  Implements big data and NoSQL solutions using scalable data processing platforms to give the organization high-value insights.
•  Determines, plans, and implements internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes and enhancing test data delivery.
•  identifies strategies to improve the standard, effectiveness, and consistency of data management.
•  explains technical ideas to audiences who are not technically minded using both written and spoken language.

 REQUIRED.

•  five or more years of experience creating and implementing data pipelines for sizable, complex datasets.
•  2+ years of relevant experience with an ETL tool such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Informatica IICS, etc.
•  a minimum of three years’ experience working with big data cloud technologies like ADLS, Azure Databricks, Spark, Azure Synapse, and Cosmos DB.
•  Significant working understanding of a variety of data sources, including DB2, SQL, Oracle, flat files (csv, delimited), APIs, XML, and JSON.
•  understanding of event- and message-based integration techniques, including ETL and Kafka (Azure Event Hub).
•  Advanced SQL skills, a solid understanding of relational databases and business data, and the ability to write SQL queries of varying complexity for use with a variety of data sources are all required.
•  5+ years of experience working with data warehouses, ETL, and pipelines.
•  familiarity with relational, NoSQL, graph, and data warehousing databases as well as data lakes.
•  Azure knowledge of Git/DevOps.

•  Level 2 – $100,000 – $135,000.
•  Level 3 – $125,000 – $165,000.
