In this senior position, you will manage and oversee various DevOps initiatives as part of extensive enterprise-wide cybersecurity initiatives.
•  American Express is looking for a Senior API Security Engineer with proven strong technical competency and leadership capability to contribute to the success of enterprise-wide API security initiatives. The senior API security engineer is essential in managing, monitoring, and reporting on the reduction of API security risk because they are subject matter experts in API security. The Senior API Security Engineer promotes API security guidelines and measures to help with the security champion practice.

 Primary Responsibility.

•  To make sure that threat-based requirements are followed, carry out ongoing governance and follow-up with API owners.
•  Create, deliver, and keep up with the latest design patterns for API security guidelines.
•  API security controls should be checked against the outcomes of vulnerability testing tool results to enable auditability and verifiability.
•  Support application teams with technical advice on API security.

 Minimum conditions.

•  Required education includes a bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
•  a minimum of 8 years’ experience in secure application development techniques.
•  Development and security expertise in REST, SOAP, and gRPC dating back at least six years.
•  6+ years of experience security testing web services and web APIs.
•  a minimum of four years’ experience planning threat modeling exercises for software and services.
•  Experience with risk management, secure architecture, and secure SDLC processes spanning 6+ years.
•  6+ years of experience working with OIDC, JWT, and OAuth 2.0 as controls for managing API access and identity.
•  For at least six years, professionals have used NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, OWASP, and SANS Top 25.
•  working with Oracle, SQL, and NoSQL database architectures for at least 4 years.

•  Strong understanding of and familiarity with the security measures used for data storage, transmission, and use.

The range of the annual salary, including benefits and bonuses, is $110,000 to $190,000.
