As a lead developer, you will be responsible for problem solving in large Linux and Java based SaaS environments. You will work directly with development, infrastructure, and support teams to resolve issues in this fast-paced business environment. Support services will span multiple data centers as you will be involved in supporting our platform in the US and EU.
Functions:
Investigate issues with our web-based business applications and various standalone applications
Documentation of procedures including support services for internal customers and end users
Contribute in writing and in person to root research meetings as part of process improvement
Operate and support a large SAAS platform based on Java and Linux
Participate in the development and testing of internal tools, scripts and other coding projects
Collaborate with peer teams to deliver high availability and best performance to customers
Troubleshoot customer issues with our application developers, support and QA teams
Review and analyze customer reported issues
Required skills:
Strong experience supporting products in a Saas environment with external customers
Analytical, structured and detail oriented approach to problem solving and troubleshooting
A working knowledge of the difference between programs depends on what the program is doing
An understanding of Java, an understanding of Groovy and/or Python is highly desirable
Experience with at least one RDBMS, preferably Oracle or Postgres, and relevant skills in writing SQL scripts
Working knowledge of industry standard formats, especially XML, CSV and JSON; This includes understanding character encodings such as UTF-8 and ISO-Latin 1
Familiarity with the concepts of hashing, symmetric encryption, public encryption and SSL/TLS
Basic understanding of common network infrastructure and topologies in standard web application environments
Knowledge of basic web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Experience with Linux operating systems and command line operations
Technical Requirements:
Experience building API or web user interface. Experience in scalable and high quality environments supporting high business volumes. Understanding of the technical challenges and requirements of such environments. Experience developing and/or debugging mobile applications written in Objective-C for iOS and/or Java for Android.
Experience working with clients to explain complex technical concepts
Experience with the following application servers: WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat or JBoss
Experience with the following relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server
