Amazon’s Information Security Penetration Testing Team is seeking a Security Engineer for the benefit of its customers. In this position, you will attack Amazon’s services, applications, and websites to look for security holes and report them to our internal technology teams. This position will present you with challenging opportunities in terms of technology and as a leader, but it will also be a lot of fun if the idea of hacking Amazon with a team of highly competent people appeals to you.
An Amazon security engineer needs to be skilled in a variety of fields. Engineers in this role provide leadership and technical direction to teams and leaders across Amazon in addition to closely collaborating with information security teams. Face-to-face interactions with teams from various industry sectors will give you first-hand knowledge of how Amazon is structured and runs on a highly technical level. You’ll also use your newfound knowledge of Amazon to develop original ideas for how to improve the products, operations, and technological developments the company offers.
Engineers in this position must use exceptional judgment when deciding between short-term technical fixes and long-term security and business goals. You will show fortitude and behave coolly and deftly in tense situations. You will be expected to conduct research, create new things, and innovate while carrying out thought leadership for the business as part of your duties. A strong sense of customer obsession is necessary to concentrate on the main goal of keeping Amazon and its customers secure.

ESSENTIAL NEEDS.

* Three years or more of expertise in performing offensive security testing.

* Three or more years of experience in the field of security engineering, with a focus on areas such as network security, web application security, authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography, automation, and other software security fields.

* Three or more years of experience checking for security flaws in manual and dynamic code.

* Three or more years’ worth of experience working with compiled or interpreted languages (e. g. .NET, C/C++, Java, Ruby, Python).

* Understanding of threat modeling, design reviews, or other threat analysis techniques.

* A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field, or comparable professional experience.

Priority requirements.

* Mobile application penetration testing knowledge.

* Knowledge of cloud service providers and their array of technologies and services, preferably AWS.

* Understanding of different security disciplines (e. g. Application security, cryptography, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, and incident response).

* A track record of building and automating security tools.

* Experience winning Bug Bounty awards, CVE research, or both.

* Graduate-level training in computer science or a related subject.
