The Cloud Infrastructure Operations finance team is seeking a Financial Controller – Data Center Operations to partner with the Data Center Operations team in the Americas (AMERS). Locations in the AMERS include The United States, Canada and Latin America area. The Financial Controller – Data Center will provide Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and Capital Expenditure (Capex) financial leadership and transparency for Microsoft’s cloud operations in the region

The Financial Controller – Data Center Operations role requires a high degree of agility and skill in navigating multiple stakeholder requirements while enabling the accelerated growth aspirations for the business in the market.   • Business Partnership: Act as a strategic and trusted advisor to the data center operation leaders in AMERS to influence business direction, operational support, and investment models.
  • Analytical: Model and analyze key strategic drivers to influence and drive future year planning decisions and strategic activities, specifically in relation data center operations. Monitor trends and key drivers, proactively recommending course of action.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
    •  OR Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field Entry Level Microsoft Jobs
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications: 

  • Ability to collaborate and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organization, and creating effecting partnerships. Ability to achieve results through both individual and cross team efforts, to manage multiple projects at the same time, and to work effectively under deadline constraints.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis. Ability to “think outside the box” and not be hindered by how things have been done in the past.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, including: analysis, forecasting, planning, reporting, and developing financial models.
  • Written and verbal communications translating financial analysis and insights into meaningful and actionable business communications and recommendations
  • Excel and Office skills
