  •  This position reports to the Chief Complaints and Regulatory Affairs Officer and the Head of Corporate Compliance and is responsible for the delivery of the Bank’s complaint handling program Office, regulatory relations, and compliance programs. The position will have three strategic facets: 1- Accountable for fully comprehending and adhering to all regulatory requirements, including analysis, reporting, and opportunities for process improvement related to escalated complaints; 2-.
  •  Deliver special compliance projects that are strategic for the market or international, closely coordinating with the Chief Compliance Officer. Manage regulatory interactions and submissions with federal, provincial, and international regulators as necessary, closely coordinating with the Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer.
  •  The position must contribute to the development and upkeep of an effective compliance regime and culture to manage compliance programs by local market legal and regulatory requirements and internal American Express policy. Additionally, the position will be in charge of overseeing a team of compliance specialists who are in charge of ensuring that the Bank complies with all applicable laws and has a robust compliance program. Strong partnerships with the operations, business, and leadership teams as well as oversight responsibilities are essential for the role’s efficient management of regulatory risk. The Senior Manager must consistently understand all internal expectations, legal obligations, and business procedures across all lines of business to manage and mitigate any risk.

 Responsibilities.

  •  responsible for ensuring that the Bank’s complaints handling program is sufficient, accurate, and implemented promptly. Both the general reporting requirements and the FCAC’s mandatory reporting requirements can be helped with in this way.
  •  Establishes the governance and procedures necessary to ensure accurate reporting to the FCAC, including implementing the necessary quality controls and obtaining the Chief Complaints Officer’s and the Bank’s leadership’s approval.
  •  Creating and implementing KRIs, smart monitoring, and putting in place programs for reporting and monitoring (i. e. Business Self Testing) to take care of the bank’s complaint handling program to decrease and mitigate complaints and risk to the bank.
  •  develops a framework for examining and analyzing different customer complaints (e. e., root cause analysis), corrective issues, action plans, procedural enhancements, or upgrades to Products / Services.
  •  Work on creating a cooperative relationship with regulators, ensuring that submissions are reviewed and submitted on time, and developing a process to track timely submissions (OSFI, FCAC, FINTRAC, and OPC as well as provincial regulators, and some global regulators as needed).
  •  Assisting in the creation of compliance programs in partnership with the business to continuously identify areas for improvement in business processes, product design, capabilities, or technologies, colleague training, and/or procedures to address common themes, is a requirement on unique projects given to the incumbent.

 Qualifications.

  •  at least three years in a comparable leadership position.
  •  a university degree in the relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An advantage would be having a postgraduate degree or professional designation such as a JD, LLM, MBA, or another.
