- As a Senior Software Engineer (Machine Learning) in the Ads division, you will be joining a team that is dedicated to dynamically optimizing the distribution of ad campaign budgets across various channels.

This is what you’ll do:.
- Automate the generation of applied scientists’ machine learning, statistical, and optimization model-based features.
- Make solutions that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable, and keep them up to date.
- Make sure your team or organization uses Yelp’s ML tools to their fullest potential by collaborating with our ML platform team.
- You can assist Yelp in determining the future course of ML by providing insightful feedback and making contributions to tool upgrades.
- Independent guidance and project management for software development.
- Assist in bridging the gap between applied and data scientists (who might not have experience creating scalable systems) and generalist backend engineers (who might not have experience with ML or other mathematical/statistical model-based systems).
The following are the requirements for success.
- Several years’ worth of experience productionizing machine learning, statistical, or optimization model-based features, ideally on a scale comparable to Yelp’s.
- Knowledge of Spark, the cloud (AWS), and microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) with proficiency in Python.
- Understanding how machine learning and modeling are used in applied science does not require having in-depth theoretical knowledge.
