Summary.
- Reporting to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting, this position will be a member of the Corporate Accounting Team. The month-end accounting close for all of Yelp’s entities, including our international locations, is handled by this ambitious, entertaining, and collaborative team. After combining those findings, they engage internal and external stakeholders in communication. The depth of experience this team has, which it acquired through exposure to significant business partners and a wide range of financial topics, makes it stand out.

The following is what you’ll do.
- You will prepare disclosures and manage filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) on a quarterly basis. These may also include other forms, in addition to Forms 10-Q and 10-K, as appropriate.
- You will ensure that the filings mentioned above comply with SEC and U. regulations. General accepted accounting principles (“GAAP”) and S. requirements for XBRL tagging.
- You will help the Investor Relations team by providing timely and accurate financial information, reviewing key earnings information, and offering additional insights as part of the process to communicate Yelp’s results through the quarterly Shareholder Letter.
- You will review pertinent accounting literature, provide technical memos and instructions, and conduct relevant accounting literature reviews to ensure Yelp is accounting for any changes in accordance with U. GAAP Sdot. New accounting pronouncements that will have an impact on Yelp in particular are the subject of investigation, analysis, and documentation.
- You will help with the creation of monthly accounting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for the areas of responsibility as part of our month-end close procedure. This may include, among other things, capitalized software development costs and stock compensation.
- You will guarantee that policies and procedures are followed in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”) requirements. Coordinate SOX testing with internal and external auditors and ensure that any issues are fixed and remedied.
- You’ll participate in and manage a variety of other tasks, including SOX-related ones like the implementation of control flowcharts or other new system implementations that have an effect on SOX or SEC reporting.
- You will collaborate with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, including the larger Accounting team, FPandA, investor relations, legal, and tax departments, among others.
- You will carry out financial statement analytics for significant areas of responsibility, and you will be able to communicate your conclusions to finance management as part of monthly fluctuation analyses.
- You will work on a range of original projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned.
Success requires the following.
- Your score is a B. S. /B. A. a qualification in business administration, accounting, or a related discipline.
- You have at least two years of relevant experience.
- You either currently possess a CPA license or are actively pursuing one.
- If you had prior experience working on SEC filings for a publicly traded company, an auditing background or prior employment with a company would be ideal.
- You are knowledgeable about US GAAP and accounting research methods.
- With SOX, you’re used to it.
- Microsoft Word and Excel are two programs you are competent with.
- It’s really impressive how carefully you pay attention to detail.
- You have the ability to prioritize a variety of projects while working on them all at once, frequently in a busy setting, and you manage to finish tasks on time.
- Both when writing and speaking, you are very clear.
- You are a strong analytical thinker with the ability to execute process improvement successfully.
- You’ve used Oracle accounting systems in the past (this is advantageous but not required).
- You display a focus on working with others.
