Job Summary:
Administer quality physiotherapy services as treatment plans established by physiotherapists to restore function, prevent disability and return patients to their fullest potential.
Main functions:
Provides physiotherapy to patients from geriatric to children: provides and continues treatment according to treatment plans, doctor’s procedures, professional standards and department procedures. Teaches patient care classes and groups for specific problems in group prescriptions and departmental orders. Can join the clinic to care for patients through specialized training or continuing education (ie Amputee Clinic). Communicates test results to therapists, doctors and other health care professionals. Complete all mapping documents as directed by Kaiser Permanente and state licensing requirements. Demonstrate and work effectively using time management skills that facilitate patient care, efficient use of computers and electronic devices (use of keyboard shortcuts, smart sets and dot points).
Works in a professional manner, demonstrating reliability, flexibility and teamwork. Maintains professional competence through continuing education, internships, peer review and self-evaluation and departmental standards. Ongoing training depends on the number of patients being treated. Participates in maintaining a clean, safe and organized environment. Performs other duties as required. Key features:
Education
- A graduate of an accredited medical assistant program, basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology is suitable for ATP.
- Successful completion of clinical internships. High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Licensing, Certification, Registration
- Physical Therapy Assistant License (in the state where care is provided)
- Basic Life Support within 2 months of employment
