Job Title: Manager – Hotel Operations (Asset Management)
Job Summary: This role is responsible for helping to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of Tavistock’s hotel portfolio by monitoring and optimizing its financial performance, implementing strategic initiatives, and providing guidance to property management teams. This position will report to the Director of Hotel Asset Management and will work closely in collaboration with a financial analyst and other Tavistock departments, including Facilities Management, Procurement, and Accounting.
Essential Job Functions:
Asset Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with Director of Hotel Asset Management to define long-term asset goals and investment strategies.
- Conduct market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify opportunities and threats.
- Collaborate with Director of Hotel Asset Management to develop and update comprehensive asset management plans.

- Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability to ensure the hotel meets financial objectives.
- Review and collaborate with property managers on strategies to maximize revenue through pricing, occupancy, and cost controls.
- Analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Keep informed of competitive developments and demand drivers in the industry.
- Regularly visit the hotel properties to assess physical condition, service quality, and adherence to brand standards.
- Collaborate with Facilities Management regarding maintenance, repairs, and improvements to the assets’ physical conditions.
- Review guest satisfaction scores and suggest/implement improvements as needed.
- Review sustainability initiatives and ESG (environmental, social, governance) practices to enhance the environmental and social responsibility of the hotel assets.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the hotel properties, including legal, operational, financial, and reputational risks.
- Work with the Risk Management Team to ensure insurance coverage and manage claims when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service standards – including management agreements, franchise agreements, and other contracts.
Capital Expenditure Planning and Management:
- Plan and prioritize capital investments and renovation projects to maintain and enhance the property’s value.
- Evaluate return on investment for capital expenditures.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior management, highlighting financial performance and key initiatives.
- Ensure all loan compliance reporting deadlines are met.
- Provide ad-hoc analyses on areas of concern.
Relationship Management:
- Foster positive relationships with property managers, senior management, internal departments, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate with the hotel management team to align operational efforts with asset goals.

Requirements:Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in hotel management/operations or asset management.
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
- Excellent communication and intra-personal skills.
- Critical thinker with an even-keeled temperament.
- Knowledge of hotel industry standards, trends and market dynamics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office suite of products.
- Ability to travel – possibly multiple times in a month for several days at a time.
- Ability to effectively communicate with sr. leadership
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines
