About the Role
The role of the License Practical Nurse (LPN) is to provide administrative and clinical support to the Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners of the practice. The LPN position requires a highly organized individual who can safely manage more than one task at a time and move efficiently throughout varied responsibilities. The LPN must be able to work independently as well as interact as part of a team, consistently demonstrating respect and professionalism to fellow staff members.
What You’ll Be Doing
  • After proper identification of the patient by full name and birthdate, the LPN will greet patients in the waiting area and escort them to the clinical care area for which their appointment is scheduled. Once the patient is placed in the exam room, the LPN assists in placing all personal belongings in the appropriate place in the exam room. Patient EMR chart is to be accurately updated in regards to weight, vital signs, medications and medical updates ensuring medical update form has been completed and the chart is ready for the provider (including lab work, x-rays, consultations).
  • The LPN explains procedures to the patients addressing any questions or concerns they may have. Acts under the direction of the RN, PA/ NP or M.D. when providing clinical care that is within the LPN’s scope of practice, such as; changing uncomplicated Foley catheters, teaches intermittent clean self-catheterizations. Performs bladder scans and flow tests as directed. Also administers Urology medications such as Intravesical BCG, Mitomycin, DMSO, Valstar and various interstitial cystitis cocktails as ordered by provider.
  • Prepares room & equipment for office procedures assisting providers with office procedures to carry out clinical care including preparing the patient for their appointment.
  • At the end of the day the LPN is responsible for making sure that all patients have been discharged, exam rooms are stocked, clean and lights have been turned of
  • Participates in ongoing educational activities related to professional issues.
What We Expect From You
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN Program
  • Current New York State License
  • Current CPR certification
  • At least one (1) year of medical/surgical experience is preferred

Salary Range: Please note that the hourly range for this position will vary based on experience level, education and geographical location.

$19.10 – $23.18 / hour
