The pay range is $125,600.00 – $226,100.00

Food & Beverage Supply Chain

A role in Target’s Food Supply Chain is a chance to truly serve our guests with speed, freshness and quality. We strengthen the efficiency of product delivery and partner across Target’s Global Supply Chain to provide the highest quality food products to our guests—on time, every time. Here, your role might be extracting business insights from data, solving problem statements, conducting gap analysis, and recommending focus areas for leadership. Or you’ll be an inventory management resource whose specialized point of view informs what we buy, from whom, how much and where it needs to go from there. You’ll leverage inventory positioning to achieve the best possible product availability and establish and develop great relationships with our vendors to encourage on-time delivery. Or join our team in a food distribution center where you’re on the very front lines of getting product to the guest as fast as possible—a critical differentiator that keeps Target guests coming back for more.

 

In this role, as part of the Supply Chain Engineering team, the Regional Engineering Directors will regionally lead all field-based Engineering & Facilities (E&F) teams within our distribution centers to ensure supply chain assets (conveyors, sorters, powered industrial trucks, etc.) are maintained to deliver on current and long-term objectives. The field teams include: E&F Senior Operations Managers, E&F Operations Managers, Mechanics, Maintenance Technicians and Facility Attendantsand Senior System Engineers. The Engineering Director will safely ensure reliability (through PM’s and CM’s), efficiency (through strong partnership with Operations), and value extraction (OPEX and CAPEX management) of our assets to support Target’s Global Supply Chain & Logistics (GSCL) business requirements.

This role has three “must have” skill sets:

1) Significant diagnostic and assessment experience in the material handling and building asset management space, especially around the efficacy of PM’s, CM’s and spare parts management
2) Exceptional critical thinking and structured problem solving skill sets plus the ability to broadly teach and train
3) Ability to quickly connect with all levels of employees and diverse teams while leading them through change and deliver top results

Important sub-components of these skill sets are:
1) Significant diagnostic and assessment experience in the material handling and building asset management space, especially around the efficacy of PM’s, CM’s and spare parts management
a. Experience with the life cycle management of integrated assets; considering impacts on people, process, and technology.
b. Strong ability to apply engineering methods and data analysis to monitor and manage the maintenance of critical asset categories
c. Ability to drive maintenance Best Practices: innovate, document, improve work methods, standardize, provide a safe work environment and require safe work practices, train, commission equipment, collect, measure, and analyze key performance indicators to improve processes and improve experience.
d. Ability to understand and monitor E&F field spend across relevant building OPEX and CAPEX categories

2) Exceptional critical thinking and structured problem solving skill sets plus the ability to broadly teach and train
a. Ability to quickly understand asset conditions and provide feedback to HQ Equipment Engineers to ensure effective lifecycle costing and value optimization
b. Ability to quickly provide assistance to building teams struggling with major and minor asset escalations in partnership with the SCE Field Engineering team. Comfortable communicating with Sr. Director up to EVP level leaders, demonstrating clear logical breakdown of a situation, problem, or recommendation.
c. Ability to quickly assess field talent gaps and needs to support a world-class E&F organization.
d. Ability to help specify training gaps in field support

3) Ability to quickly connect with all levels of employees and diverse teams while leading them through change and deliver top results
a. Capability to tailor training and messages to varying audiences
b. Strong ability to listen and synthesize messages

About you:

  • 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience in relevant technical or engineering field
  • 10+ years of Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial or Reliability Engineering, or facilities management experience
  • Maintenance / Asset Management experience
  • Experience with Maximo 7.x or comparable Asset Management/CMMS software
  • Strong communication, teambuilding, and influencing skills
  • Strong foundation of mathematical/analytical principles
  • Highly proficient in independent problem solving, creating plans and delivering results
  • Ability to multi-task a wide variety of requests and tasks, confidently shifting and reprioritizing work based on effort, risk, impact, and customer
  • Up to 50% work travel

 

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as “Flex for Your Day”) work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
