Contract Compliance Associate (CancerTools.org)

Salary: £36,000 – £43,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location: Stratford, London (High flex – we’d expect you to be in the office 1 to 2 days a week)

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week (flexible working arrangements considered if they meet business needs)

Department: Research & Innovation

Reports to: Senior Business Development Manager

About the team

CancerTools.org, the research tools arm of CRUK, is a non-profit, global community of cancer researchers, academic institutes, and professional societies, with a shared mission to accelerate cancer research. With a history of more than 40 years of managing and providing reagents to both academic and for-profit laboratories around the world, CancerTools.org has been steadfast in its mission of accelerating cancer research by making research tools widely and easily available.

What will you be doing?

The Contract Compliance Associate is responsible the day-to-day management of all executed CancerTools.org agreements and commercial deals. You’ll be a key member of the Business Development team and wider Commercial Partnerships Business Operations team where you’ll work to improve efficiencies across processes.

  • Management of all executed (post-signature) CancerTools.org agreements and commercial deals
  • Ensuring that CancerTools.org meets deal and agreement obligations and that 3rd party signatories to our agreements meet their requirements in terms of reporting and royalty sharing
  • Legal compliance of agreements that are nearing termination and/or renewal
  • Maintaining accuracy of our in-house agreement database on Minuet, including Freedom to Operate information
  • Monitoring, and improving CanceerTools.org agreement and deal processes where needed
  • Any other duties/projects as are reasonable and within the skills and ability of the post holder

What skills are we looking for?

  • Educated to BSc level in a relevant subject such as Business Administration or equivalent in-role experience
  • Ideally experience of working with technology, CRM and legal databases such as Minuet
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Keen attention to detail, with an ability to spot errors and accurate record keeping
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Understanding of key agreement principles
  • Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers and external partners
  • Experience of managing and interpreting contracts and negotiating simple agreements is desirable
