Ramp Operations Manager

About the Role

We are currently seeking an Ramp Operations Manager to join our experienced management team within our Belfast Gateway.

The overall purpose of the Ramp Department is to ensure that once material arrives in the Hub facility by air transport, the unloading and reloading is performed in accordance with DHL, Airline and Legal Regulations, and that the material is sorted in accordance with established procedures and is available for further distribution throughout the network at scheduled times.

The Ramp Supervisor should be fully conversant with Company and International Standards specifically the Health and Safety at Work Act and GSOP/GAPS requirements. Alphabet Customer Support Jobs In UK

You will responsible for:

  • Preparing load sheets and load plans via SABLE in accordance with GAPS.
  • Overseeing loading and unloading of aircraft, when requested, in accordance with DHL GAPS.
  • Liaising with relevant handling agents.
  • Liaising with 3rd party shippers.
  • Coordinating container allocations as appropriate.
  • Arranging fuelling/de-icing as requested.
  • Ensuring accurate and on time messaging via NMIV.
  • Preparing flight plans and associated documentation via LIDO.
  • Maintaining clear communication with NCG flight watch (EMA, BRU, LEJ and LHR)
  • Preparing load sheets and load plans for all Truck movements, capture relevant data and compliance scans.
  • Conducting Dangerous Goods checks as requested.
  • Preparing correct Dangerous Goods declarations
  • Coordinating efficient crew transportation / handling as required.
  • Supporting the operation in Ramp, Sort and Warehouse related duties as directed.

Your Profile – Skill sets and Attributes

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of Outlook email product
  • Excellent knowledge of Aircraft loading procedures.
  • Knowledge of AS400 Hub system, AHS and standard flagging procedures.
  • Knowledge of ACS procedures
  • Sound knowledge of Ramp operations at a Hub airport.
  • Good understanding of DHL Hub operations.
  • Understanding of Ground Support Equipment that is used in operation.
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead multi-cultural teams.
  • Self-confident with ability to motivate staff.
  • Prioritise workload of self and others.
  • Able to make ‘dynamic’ decisions.
  • Have good planning and organising skills.
  • Be able to interact with staff from other departments.
  • Knowledge of phonetic alphabet.
  • Must meet criteria for issue of an Airport Pass.
  • Successful completion of ‘Mass and Balance’ training
  • Successful completion of ‘Advanced ULD Build Up’ Course
  • Successful completion of ‘Airside Supervisors’ training
  • Successful completion of ‘CAT 6 Dangerous Goods IATA’ training
  • NMIV – desirable
  • RCTS – desirable
  • Must hold a full driving licence.
  • Experience as a ramp loader or similar is essential and proven experience in Operations/Logistics or similar.
  • Supervisory experience preferred
